Internal Research Grant from the Harry M. Zweig Memorial Fund
In December 2024, Dr. Callum Donnelly was awarded an Internal Research Grant from the Harry M. Zweig Memorial Fund for Equine Research. The grant is going towards his research on “Mechanisms of Insulin Regulation in Equine Pregnancy” for 2025.

Zweig Poster Symposium
Zweig hosted a Poster Presentation Symposium at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and among the 20 candidates was Donnelly Lab’s very own Amanda Macias, presenting her poster titled “Administration of Ursodeoxycholic Acid Improves Post-Prandial Insulin Response in Insulin Dysregulated Mares”. For this incredible work, Amanda was named the winner of the poster competition at the Harry M. Zweig Memorial Fund for Equine Research poster session.

Animal Health Hackathon
Caroline Murabito ‘25 wins ”Most Novel and Innovative Veterinary Health Solution” award at the 2024 Animal Health Hackathon hosted annually by the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell Center for Veterinary Business and Entrepreneurship, and Entrepreneurship at Cornell. Their proposition would shorten closing time after surgery, and is modeled after human medicine practices.

National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship
Amanda Macias was selected as a National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF GRF) fellow of 2023. The purpose of the fellowship is to recognize and support superlative graduate students pursuing full-time research-based master's and doctoral degrees in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and math disciplines at accredited institutions. Amanda was one of two Cornelians studying biomedical and biological sciences to win the 2023 fellowship.
